Visitors and seekers are always welcome at UU Tampa. Membership isn’t something we push or rush — it’s an invitation to learn more about our community, build connections, and decide whether making UU Tampa your spiritual home feels right for you.

Start with a Conversation
Join our Membership Team after a Sunday service for an informal meet-and-greet. We’ll talk about what brought you to UU Tampa, your own faith journey, questions you have about Unitarian Universalism, and ways to begin connecting with our community.

Intro to UU
Explore our Faith & Community
Take a deeper look at Unitarian Universalism and life at UU Tampa. Together we’ll explore UU history, our principles, sources and covenant, ways to get involved, and what membership means.
Offered several times a year. About 3-4 hours.

Find Your Place Here
One of the best ways to become part of UU Tampa is simply to participate. Greet visitors, help with Sunday hospitality, join a group, sing with the choir, volunteer, or discover another way to share your gifts.

What Membership Means
Membership is an Invitation, Not an Obligation
Completing the pathway doesn’t obligate you to become a member. UU Tampa is a voluntary community, and we want you to take the time you need to decide whether membership feels right for you.
When you’re ready
Becoming a Member
When you decide to join, you’ll sign the Membership Book and become part of the congregation’s shared life. Membership means having a voice in the future of UU Tampa while helping sustain the community through your presence, participation, and support.

Do I have to become a member?
Not at all. You’re welcome to participate in the life of UU Tampa whether or not you choose membership. Completing the membership pathway is an opportunity to learn, connect, and discern whether joining feels right for you.
When do I get a permanent name tag?
After you complete Intro to UU and sign the Membership Book, a permanent UU Tampa name tag will be ordered for you. Until then, temporary name tags are available when you visit.
There’s a Place for You
You Don’t Have to Wait to Belong
Membership is one way to deepen your connection to UU Tampa, but community begins long before you sign the Membership Book. Come to worship, join a small group, sing with the choir, volunteer, attend the events, or simply stay for coffee and conversation. There are plenty of ways to find your place here.
