Our Faith
Unitarian Universalism
Different Beliefs. Shared Values. Grounded in Love.
Unitarian Universalism is a diverse and inclusive faith tradition grounded in a simple but powerful idea: we don’t have to believe exactly the same things to build community together.

Many Paths, shared Values
You Don’t Have to Believe the Same Things.
There is no single UU creed or required set of religious beliefs. Instead, Unitarian Universalists are connected by shared values and covenants that guide how we treat one another, engage with the world, and work toward greater love, justice, equity, and compassion.
That means you’ll find a wide range of beliefs within UU communities. Some Unitarian Universalists identify as Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Pagan, humanist, atheist, agnostic, or spiritual. Others draw wisdom from many traditions—or prefer not to use a religious label at all. Rather than asking everyone to arrive at the same answers, UU communities make room for questions, exploration, and the understanding that our beliefs can grow and change throughout our lives.
A Living Tradition
A Faith That Continues to Grow
Unitarian Universalism is a living tradition. Our faith continues to grow as we learn from one another, from many religious and philosophical traditions, and from our evolving understanding of justice, equity, and what it means to live our values in the world.
At its heart
Unitarian Universalism is less about what you are required to believe and more about how we choose to live our values together.
